Manage Documents

 

OVERVIEW

Any number of documents can be uploaded to a site for almost any purpose. Documents can show maps, plans, construction details, calendars, photos, certificates and more. Although various file formats are permitted, PDF remains the most useful as it can be opened on all devices. Documents are visible to inspectors at the point of making an inspection, to managers at the point of scheduling visits, and to clients in their client portal.
 
 

UPLOADING

When a document has been uploaded you can click the edit button to provide more information about the document:
 

Document Name

Type in a friendly and descriptive name here.
 

Tags

A document can be tagged with any word, such as map, plan, or construction. These tags appear in a drop down list above documents where they appear within SURVEYOR allowing users to quickly find documents of a certain type.

Tags can be added by users directly from the documents list at a later time.
 
Note that the tag admin is a special case that means only admin users can see those documents, useful for financial or other private matters.
 
Note that the tag titlepage is also a special case. The thumbnail rendering of this document will be used on the first page of some reports.
 

Version

It may be useful to record a version number with the document.
 

Document Type

Document type has been superseded by tags and can be left blank.
