Prestarts

OVERVIEW

Prestart values are pieces of information that are useful during the course of a project, and are often decided before the project can start (hence the name 'prestart'). There can be any number of prestart values, of any name, to store any value. The goal is to record information that is essential, useful, important for the project to be completed appropriately. It might be that much of the prestart information is available in other documents, but summarising using the prestart function saves a lot of time repeatedly searching for it.

Note that prestarts belong at site level and cover all jobs at that site.

Note that prestarts are relatively private. They don't appear on a client's portal and they don't appear on any reports.

LOCATION

The prestart function is available on the camera page so that inspectors can quickly find useful information at the point of performing an inspection. It is also available on the site details page so that managers and inspectors can see (and edit) the prestart information.

NAME VALUE PAIRS

The method of recording prestart values is called 'name value pair', that is, you give a name, you give a value, and that creates a single prestart entry. Examples include:

Name
Value
Pipe Material
PCV
Site Open Weekends
No
Hi-Vis Required
Yes
Depth of Trenches
1000mm
Final Access Date
12 Dec 2023
